Well-connected: Sheryl Clark’s TCI visit

From San Miguel de Allende to Grace Bay

A broker visit from Mexico shows what it means to be part of a global network.

Some of the best connections in our network start with a handshake at a conference and pick up again somewhere with turquoise water. That’s what happened when Sheryl Clark, broker with San Miguel Sotheby’s International Realty in Mexico, came to the Turks and Caicos Islands this autumn.

Sheryl flew in to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. Between the celebrations, she made time to visit our team. It was a great example of what our Well-connected campaign is about.

A visit to the EPIC theater

Sheryl met with Nina Siegenthaler, our Vice President and Broker, and the two compared notes on their markets. San Miguel de Allende and the Turks and Caicos are very different places, but they attract the same kind of buyer: someone who values culture, quality and a life well lived.

Then Sheryl came by the EPIC theater to see our technology for herself. The floor-to-ceiling video wall puts a buyer in the scene: a beachfront villa, the pool deck at golden hour, the walk from the terrace to the sand. Sheryl stepped right in, pointing out details on the screen and asking how our agents use the space with clients. As brokers say, it’s one thing to hear about a tool and another to stand in front of it.

She didn’t arrive empty-handed, either. Sheryl brought marketing gifts from the San Miguel team, including their signature navy fans. They made a perfect prop for our photos in front of the wall, and a welcome one in the Caribbean heat.

From Nashville to Providenciales

This wasn’t a first meeting. Our team first met Sheryl at the 2024 Sotheby’s International Realty Global Networking Event (GNE) in Nashville, Tennessee, and reconnected with her this October at GNE in San Francisco. GNE brings together brokers and agents from offices around the world to share ideas, compare markets and build the relationships that lead to referrals.

Welcoming Sheryl to our islands, just weeks after San Francisco, turned two years of conference conversations into a real working relationship. That’s what Well-connected means to us. A Sotheby’s International Realty office is never working alone. Behind every listing and every client is a network of offices that know each other, trust each other and pick up the phone for each other.

For our clients, that network matters. A buyer looking at a home in Mexico may also be dreaming of a Caribbean villa. A seller in Grace Bay may know someone ready to move to San Miguel. When brokers know each other personally, those referrals are faster, warmer and better informed.

Connected, wherever you’re going

Thank you, Sheryl, for spending part of your celebration week with us, and for the gifts from the San Miguel team. We hope this is the first of many visits. We look forward to returning the favour in Mexico.

Whether you’re buying in the Turks and Caicos, selling here, or looking beyond our shores, our team can connect you with trusted Sotheby’s International Realty colleagues around the world. Well-connected. Here, and everywhere.
